For the price it's a great monitor. But if you want/need a very clear picture of your baby you might need to save and spring for one of their "better" models. We are slightly regretting not getting one that has a better image quality because sometimes we look and can't quite figure out what we are seeing at night. 😅 Overall tho- especially if you need a daytime camera- it's a good product for the price! I love the double zoom feature, the temperature sense, and the fact the camera has a huge range of movement!
Camera is pretty good quality in terms of picture and movement. However, the constant static noise that you have to have it turned right down to be able to sleep at night. Also, the lullabies can't be turned down and are pretty loud. The screen is also incredibly bright and feels like I have a night light on all night next to my bed
This is a great baby monitor.
Pros:
Nice big screen: Makes it easy to see small movements even with the low res.
Night vision: This is very effective even a few metres away.
Sound indicator: The first light flashes up even at low sounds and there are more lights to indicate a louder sound, this gives you quite a clear idea of what's going on without having to be glued to the video view.
Point-to-zoom: Being able to remotely move the camera is a fantastic feature especially if you have more than one child to monitor. The motor is a little buzzy but quiet enough that it doesn't wake or grab baby's attention.
Microphone on the camera: This is good enough for the intended purpose.
Cons:
Low video resolution: This is a real shame, you have a nice big screen and to not take advantage of that and pack in a few more pixels seems like a wasted opportunity. That said, you can still see even small movements so it's not a deal breaker.
Talkback from the monitor to the camera: This is so quiet coming out at the camera end that this feature is actually pointless.
Built-in music: The break from the end of a tune or 'soothing' sound and the start of it on loop is so abrupt it's actually startling, this is exasperated by how loud this feature is.
These products have to do a lot with customer expectations. Before purchasing, think about why you are buying this. Do you need a camera to manually switch on and look at the baby to assure yourself she is ok? If this is it, then this product is excellent. Good camera, good resolution, sturdy construction and adequate features (motion control, energy performance etc). If on the other hand you want a constant alert function, this will be offered here, but ask yourselves why? It is disruptive to your sleep to have the camera alert you every time the baby makes the slightest move. Also, if the baby is upset, would you really rely on playing ambient sounds off the camera?
I recommend this product, because I really like the screen and the intuitive use. I do not care much about the various add-ons.
Started off great BUT struggles to go through the whole night on battery contrary to specs. Also loses signal quite regularly.
